Beginning in 2012, the New Brunswick Department of Health will require certain staff in licensed food premises to have up-to-date food safety training and certification. While many courses are available, some are not recognized by the Department of Health. As a food handler, having this knowledge greatly reduces the risk of food contamination and, therefore, the spread of foodborne illness.
This education is also very useful for people not working in the food service industry, such as those who prepare meals at home and care for others.
BASICS.fst and ADVANCED.fst are exam-based training and certification programs for food retail and food service professionals, developed in Canada:
- Interactive Workshops adapted for all learning styles
- Certification is recognized by the Province of New Brunswick as well as across Canada
- Certification is valid for 5 years and registered in a national database for verification purposes.
- Training manuals are available in English and French.
If you would like to attend a workshop and write the examination for certification at basic or advanced levels, please contact us
